Steckert
played
by Richard Harris
Harris plays an escaped convict who simply wants get
back to the lake where he grew up as a boy. Kidnapping a young boy as his hostage

the movie you can't help but love "Steck" and wish he'd kidnap you!

Martin
played by Justin Henry
Henry does a delightful job playing a ten year old boy who's kidnapped from
his school yard and taken hostage by escaped con Martin Steckert. Neglected at
home, Martin soon realizes he can "be a kid" in this new situation and
do so many of the things he couldn't at home....................................................
Dr.
Mennen
played
by Lindsay Wagner
Lindsey Wagner plays a serious but compassionate prison
physchiatrist who has been analyzing Steckert both before and after his escape,
and is made to aid in the capture of him. Torn between her duty as an employee
of the state and a friend of Steckert's, the doctor wants him back safe..........................
Lt.
Lardner
played
by James Coburn
Hollywood vet Coburn does a bang-up job as a hard-assed
cop on a mission to put Steckert back behind bars; and doesn't dismiss the option
of putting him six feet deep if need be. From shouting out commands over the police
radio, to swooping down on Steckert in a helicopter, Lardner means business!
Brewer
played by John Ireland
Ireland plays Steckert's cell-mate, who is released in the beginning of the movie
on parole, and accepts Steck's invitation to live at his old house at the lake.
You only see Brewer two short times--in the beginning in jail and at the end of
the movie at the lake, but both scenes are stellar performances. .....
Karen
played by Karen Black
Karen Black plays Steckert's ex-girlfriend from years ago, who recieves a surprise
visit from Steck during his jail break. Steck still has strong feelings for Karen,
but unfortunately, the feelings aren't mutual. She lets Steck in but is short
with him, not covering up the fact that she's "getting ready for a date."
